Cultivating Positive Thinking and Strong Beliefs for a Fulfilling Life

It is evident that throughout one’s life, there will always be challenges and unpredictability. If a person constantly harbors too many distracting thoughts, their life will become increasingly passive, encountering more misfortune. Only by cultivating a strong positive mindset, without fear, complaint, entanglement, or lethargy, as meditation expert Andy Puddicombe says, “Many people’s fatigue does not come from the body but from unconscious distracting thoughts in the mind.” Only then can a person truly rely on their positive mindset in reality, harnessing the power of positive energy to overcome misfortune and shield themselves from adversity. Ultimately, they can turn around and embrace good fortune, leading a better life.

Cultivating Positive Thinking

What is positive thinking? In the book “Ten-Minute Mindfulness,” it is explained as, “Positive thinking is connecting with the present moment without criticism, living fully in the present without harboring various criticisms in the mind.” In reality, many people feel exhausted and anxious not because of lack of sleep but due to excessive distracting thoughts and worries. In the end, they are weighed down by various distracting thoughts and ideas.

In life, one must learn to balance work and leisure, not being fixated on work or indulgence. Achieving a certain balance between life and work allows a person to be healthier and enjoy the pleasures of life more calmly. The father of positive psychology, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, once categorized leisure into two types: “passive leisure, which refers to activities that do not require much thought, such as using a phone, watching TV, or playing games… and active leisure, which refers to activities that require focused attention, such as reading, exercising, or meditating.” It can be said that only by constantly maintaining a harmonious and relaxed state can a person live more freely and energetically. Moreover, such individuals often complete certain goals and projects more efficiently, as they believe that once they have indulged themselves, they should focus on their tasks. By giving themselves positive feedback, they are more willing to demonstrate better states, a more focused mindset, and a more responsible attitude toward their work.

In the end, once a person’s positive mindset is in place, their attitude will be right, and with the right attitude, their actions will flow smoothly, gradually leading to an improved life. I strongly agree with a line from “The Art of Living”: “Thoughts are the brush, life is the canvas, and a person’s thoughts determine the canvas of life. Change your mindset, and the colors of your life can become dazzling.” By cultivating positive thinking, shaping your thoughts, and strengthening your mindset, one day you will find that you have painted a splendid and colorful canvas of life.

Strengthening Beliefs

A person’s thoughts lead to positive thinking, and when their positive thinking is right, their beliefs will be right. When positive thinking is right, with one’s own consciousness and self-discipline, positive thinking will transform into beliefs, ultimately becoming right. Once beliefs are right, a person’s inner world will be purer, fuller, sunnier, and more energetic.

Kazuo Inamori has a motto: “If the heart does not call, things will not come.” Especially for ordinary people like us, strengthening our beliefs and enhancing our execution is the path to turning our lives around. After all, with positive thinking, people can distance themselves from negative energy and embrace positive energy. As one’s thoughts become more accurate and positive, through a person’s actions and persistence, they can transform significant value.

Therefore, starting with cultivating positive thinking and gradually developing it into a belief, this process invisibly brings greater energy and drive. At the same time, the more steadfast they are in their original intentions, maintaining their belief, the more solidly they will proceed in life, becoming more stable. They can gradually overcome anxiety, distance themselves from worries, and proceed with a balanced, relaxed approach.

Inamori also said, “Karma will be repaid, but it takes time. Do not be anxious because you do not see results immediately. What’s important is to persevere tirelessly every day.” Often, when faced with difficulties and troubles, people feel stressed, lost, and even anxious and pained. As a result, many people blame fate, criticize society, and become cynical. However, in reality, if a person knows how to reflect and change themselves, they will gradually understand that the trajectory of life is built step by step by themselves.

Stefan Zweig once said, “To regard chance and fate as one is a young person’s idea. Over time, one will naturally discover that the trajectory of life is created by oneself.” Life will always bring stress, and there will always be difficulties. A person with strong beliefs and an increasingly invincible positive mindset will possess the properties of a spring. This attribute allows them to transform social pressure into upward momentum. Thus, facing life’s pressures and challenges, as well as setbacks and sorrows, they can rely on their belief and positive mindset to dispel all adversity and worries.

Living with Positive Thinking

All ways of living rightly begin with positive thinking. Living with positive thinking is the beginning of all good fortune. In “Heart,” there is a line that says, “All the misfortunes in life, without exception, are attracted by one’s own mind. The heart that endlessly vents misfortune and complaints brings misfortune.” Clearly, if a person’s inner world is impure, unclean, or often in a state of irritability and chaos, their life will certainly be chaotic and tumultuous. It can be said that the power of positive thinking is such that what a person desires, they often obtain.

As a person’s positive thinking becomes stronger, they naturally become more inclined to achieve it through action. Even in the most difficult situations, they can maintain a cheerful, positive, enthusiastic, and sunny attitude. By shaping a thoughtful positive mindset and cultivating a magnetic field of belief, they can ultimately attract themselves forward, inspiring themselves to climb higher. Thus, step by step, with each action and effort, they accumulate strength and power in their silent and unremarkable work. Eventually, truly relying on their positive mindset and the energy of their beliefs, they can approach each day with confidence, hope, and a strong determination, truly creating a beautiful life for themselves.
